Emergency Management:

  • The Division of Public Health emergency management objective is to ensure that its employees are aware and trained in emergency evacuation procedures. In all emergency evacuation situations, emergency evacuation coordinators work directly with designated floor monitors in order to reach all employees, direct them to assigned collection locations and account for building occupants.
  • The Division of Public Health also manages the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Program policy to ensure conformance with volunteer first responder certification, training, equipment maintenance, and emergency protocol.

Workplace Safety

  • The Division of Public Health conduct monthly and quarterly workplace safety inspections, to identify workplace hazards and document corrective actions for building in the Division of Public Health. All non-compliant items, in turn, shall be subject to immediate resolution.
  • The Division of Public Health provides consultive services of work station safety through ergonomic assessments, workplace adjustments and alternative equipment recommendation.
  • Ensure review of new equipment purchases for ergonomic considerations in the workplace.

Wellness

  • Through the Division of Public Health Safety and Health web-site, all employees will have access to up-to-date information under the DHHS Health and Wellness Program.

Workers Compensation

  • The Division of Public Health provides timely reporting and investigation of all workplace accidents resulting in injuries or illness to its employees. Investigation protocol would determine:
    • The cause of the accident or injury.
    • Relevant events leading up to the accident or injury.
    • Assessing unsafe conditions contributing to the accident or injury.
    • Actions of the employee which contributed to the accident or injury.
    • Interview witnesses to the accident or injury.
    • Recommendations to prevent further injuries similar to the accident or injury.

OSHA Related Inspections

  • The Division of Public Health shall comply with all applicable OSHA workplace safety standards to ensure our employee workplace is free of hazards that could cause injuries. Support all efforts to abate and bring to resolution any cited violations.
